In May, the Manatee County Commission narrowly approved the Taylor Morrison’s plan for a 600-home subdivision on the land, including houses, townhouses, villas and condominiums.

Planners have said the Taylor Morrison project  in Bradenton is comparable to its Esplanade development of houses and townhouses in Lakewood Ranch.

The 200-acre Bradenton site, which the city agreed two years ago to sell to Taylor Morrison, is west of Ward Lake, also known as Evers Reservoir. [Sarasota Herald Tribune]Mike Seemuth
