A five-bedroom riverfront estate in Fort Myers sold for $7 million, breaking the old record for the highest house price in the Fort Myers area.

The 9,219-square-foot house at 5646 Shaddelee Lane West, which has six bathrooms and two half baths, sold fully furnished on Nov. 1.

The house has an infinity-edge swimming pool and occupies nearly an acre along the Caloosahatchee River.

Ted Stout of Realmark Realty Broker listed and sold the house on behalf of a couple that asked $7.77 million for the Fort Myers property.

Stout told the Naples Daily News that the sellers, Klaus and Cortina Kermel, wanted a smaller home and the buyer has a large family. Stout didn’t identify the new owner.

Real estate agents Aaron Wolf and Trae Zipperer represented the buyers in the $7 million transaction.

It was the highest house price on record in the Fort Myers area, according to James Sherron, chief deputy of the Lee County Property Appraiser’s office.

The old record was $6.99 million, the price paid in 2015 for a riverfront mansion in Gulf Harbour by Cliff Williams, bass player with rock band AC/DC. [Naples Daily News]Mike Seemuth
