The Broken Sound Club in Boca Raton just unveiled plans for a $30 million renovation and expansion of its clubhouse and amenities.

Peacock + Lewis is designing the renovation of the private golf and country club at 2401 Willow Springs Drive, which is expected to be completed in late 2020, according to a press release. A new entrance calls for a grand motor court with a fountain, a glass-covered porte-cochere, a two-story arrival pavilion, and new gardens, fountains and landscaping.

The clubhouse will include expanded card rooms and golf pro shop, a rooftop bar, grill room atrium bar, a sports bar overlooking the island green and #18 fairway, a new main dining room with a retractable floor-to-ceiling glass wall, and an outdoor terrace with a restaurant and bar. A new dry playground will also be built behind the pool deck, according to the release.

Overall, Boca Raton is experiencing a bit of a renaissance with new condo projects in the pipeline and more brokerages entering the market.

The club is surrounded by 27 residential communities with 1,600 homes on 1,000 acres in Boca Raton, and includes two golf courses, 23 tennis courts, a $6 million pool area and restaurant, and a $7 million, 35,000-square-foot spa and fitness center.

Homes typically range in price from $250,000 to $3 million. Homeowners at Broken Sound are required to have a membership to the club, and only homeowners can be members, according to a spokesperson.

Other high-end country clubs in South Florida are investing millions of dollars into similar projects. Peacock + Lewis also recently handled the design of the $37 million renovation and expansion of the Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables. The 60,000-square-foot, two-story clubhouse now features an 8,000-square-foot fitness center, an aquatic complex and a new event room.
