Sweet deal: Former Coca-Cola chief buys Key Biscayne condo

Coca-Cola’s former chief executive can have a coke and smile now that he’s closed on a new home in Key Biscayne.

John F. Brock III and Mary Brock paid $6.6 million for a nearly 7,000-square-foot unit at Ocean Club Tower One from a trust managed by City National Bank, according to property records.

Brock was CEO of Coca-Cola Enterprises from 2006 to 2016, and he was chairman from 2008 until 2016. He previously held executive roles at InBev SA, now Anheuser-Busch InBev, and Cadbury Schweppes. He’s currently a director at Royal Caribbean, and previously held similar positions at Dow Jones & Company and Campbell Soup Company. He’s a member of the board of MidOcean Partners, a private equity firm, according to his bio.

The Brocks’ new South Florida home, unit 201 at 799 Crandon Boulevard, includes a main house with five bedrooms and a separate two-story guest home with two bedrooms. The Ocean Club unit comes with 10,000 square feet of private, beachfront terraces with a pool and Jacuzzi, a two-car garage, three additional parking spaces and amenities at the gated community.

It last sold for $5.8 million in 2012, records show.

Jorge Uribe of One Sotheby’s International Realty represented the seller, and Ada Castellanos of EWM Realty International brought the buyer, according to the listing.

The western side of Key Biscayne is made up of mostly single-family homes, while the eastern side of the island has condos, hotels and other commercial properties. A Greek shipping family recently sold a waterfront mansion at 250 Harbor Drive for $10.1 million.
