Citrix CEO snags adjacent beachfront condos in Fort Lauderdale
Henshall and his wife paid about $7M for two units, likely combined
Citrix CEO David Henshall closed on two units at Auberge Beach Residences & Spa in Fort Lauderdale.
Henshall and his wife, Rose, paid $6.86 million for units 2101 and 2102, likely combined, in the south tower of the luxury beachfront condo development via a trust in their names, property records show.
David Henshall was promoted to president and CEO of the Fort Lauderdale-based software company in July 2017, and is also on the board of directors. Before joining Citrix in 2003, he worked for Rational Software Corp., which was acquired by IBM that year, and at companies like Samsung.
The couple is one of the first to close on units in the 23-story south tower of the two-building development at 2200 North Ocean Boulevard. The Related Group, Fortune International Group and the Fairwinds Group developed Auberge. Amenities include a full-service salon, plunge pool, and indoor and outdoor cabanas.
Other buyers include former Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino and the Winnipeg Jets’ Jacob Trouba. In October, Chicago power couple Ilene Gordon and Abram “Bram” Bluestein paid $7.3 million for a unit in the 17-story north building. A month earlier, the son of Salmar Properties founder Sal Rusi paid $9.3 million for a penthouse, also in the north tower.
Citrix, one of the largest software companies in South Florida, employed more than 8,100 people as of April 2017. That year, Henshall’s compensation totaled more than $10 million, including stock bonuses, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
