Hammer time: Former U.S. Senator Jeff Flake joins homebuilder’s board
Flake, who also joined CBS News as a contributor, is now a director of Taylor Morrison, which acquired AV Homes last year
Former U.S. Senator Jeff Flake, a Republican from Arizona, has entered the residential real estate business in his home state.
Once considered a possible candidate for U.S. president, Flake joined the board of directors of Taylor Morrison, a home building company based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
He served one term in the U.S. Senate, from 2013 to 2019, and decided in 2017 not to run for re-election in 2018.
Flake also has said he will not become a candidate for president in the 2020 election, dismissing speculation that he might run against President Donald Trump for the Republican nomination.
The former senator will serve as an independent director of Taylor Morrison, which has seven other directors. Flake will serve on the company’s nominating and governance committee.
Taylor Morrison expanded last year through its acquisition of another home building company, AV Homes, for nearly $1 billion.
