The week in luxury: A map of Miami-Dade’s priciest condo sales

Kayak CEO bought the priciest unit, a $21M PH at L'Atelier

The $21 million sale of a new penthouse in Miami Beach brought condo sales volume up last week in Miami-Dade County.

Eighty-two closings were recorded for a total of $69 million, an increase from the previous week’s 106 closings for $53 million. Condos last week sold for an average price of about $840,500 or $393 per square foot.

Steve Hafner, co-founder and CEO of Kayak, closed on his unit at L’Atelier in Miami Beach, paying more than $2,600 per foot. The six-bedroom, 16,466-square-foot penthouse was only officially on the MLS for one day, but the unit presold months earlier. Anna Sherrill represented the developer, a partnership between the Disney family’s Shamrock Holdings, SMG Management and W Capital Group. Daniela Bonetti and Darryl Fox brought the buyer.

The second most-expensive condo trade was at Apogee. Unit 1201 sold for $11.3 million, or $2,720 per foot, after nearly a year on the market. Dora Puig represented the buyer and seller.
