A fire early Sunday morning damaged an adults-only hotel in Key Largo that opened in December.

Local10.com reported that the fire started around 5 a.m. at the Bungalows Key Largo, where a two-night stay has been priced at about $2,000. No one was injured. At 9:30 a.m. Sunday, fire crews were still dousing hot spots at the resort in the 99000 block of the Overseas Highway.

The Bungalows is the first all-inclusive, adults-only resort in the Florida Keys, and it has been featured in such publications as People magazine and the New York Post.

Investigators have not confirmed a report by a sous chef working at the Bungalows that the fire started in a food truck.

The 12-acre waterfront resort has 135 bungalows and features a tiki bar, three restaurants and multiple swimming pools and Jacuzzis. Witnesses reported major damage at a clubhouse that encompasses a restaurant and swimming pool, but the fire apparently spared the bungalows. [Local10.com]Mike Seemuth
