UPDATED, Dec. 24, 12:45 p.m.: Residents of a Palm Beach County mobile home community want to sell their town to the Trump Organization for $1 billion. And one property owner claims to have enlisted the help of rapper Vanilla Ice to make their case.

The residents of Briny Breezes, a 43-acre waterfront town that sits just above Gulfstream, are trying to sell off their town to Trump in the hopes of building a Donald J. Trump presidential library, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Local resident, real estate broker James Arena, said he told the idea to Vanilla Ice. “Vanilla Ice ran it by Donald Jr.,” Arena said, according to the Palm Beach Post. “He called me back and said, ‘Man, I think they’re really into it.’”

On Twitter, Vanilla Ice said “I don’t know Donald Trump Junior, don’t understand why they said that? but if they want me to build a library In Palm Beach on the ocean, I’m in.

Arena even believes the small town could be renamed Trump Town. Briny Breezes has just 500 property owners. It’s right off the ocean, south of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach. President Trump and his wife Melania recently announced the resort as their primary residency.

Given the crumbling infrastructure and issues with the water pipes and the sewer system at Briny Breezes, property owners are looking to sell the community. In 2007, the residents were offered $510 million from a Boca Raton developer to purchase the town, the Palm Beach Post reported. [Palm Beach Post] — Keith Larsen
