Professional golfer Louis Oosthuizen sold his Palm Beach Gardens estate for $5.5 million after slicing the listing price.

Oosthuizen, who was ranked as one of the top golfers in the world, sold the 10,418-square-foot mansion at 12230 Tillinghast Circle to Tillinghast Palms LLC, led by Parkstone Wealth Management LLC of Arlington, Texas. The sale equates to $528 per square foot.

The house has six bedrooms and nine bathrooms. It features a large entertainment space with a golf simulator, a theater, bar and master suite overlooking the lake, pool and spa. It also has an outside kitchen, full bar, and fireplace.

He bought the land for $850,000 in 2013 and built the estate in 2014. The property was previously listed for $7.5 million in 2016, according to Zillow.com.

The property is in the Old Palm Golf Club, an exclusive golf community with an 18-hole course designed by Raymond Floyd.

Oosthuizen is a native of South Africa. After winning the Open Championship in 2010 at Saint Andrews, Oosthuizen has had a series of close calls in other major championships. He finished as a runner-up in the 2012 Masters Tournament, the 2015 U.S. Open, the 2015 Open Championship and the 2017 PGA Championship. He has won 13 international competitions and ranks 63 in the Fedex Cup rankings.

South Florida is a haven for golfers. In 2016, professional golfer Mark Calcavecchia and his wife Brenda sold their waterfront Palm Beach Gardens home for $5.5 million. Also in 2016, Rickie Fowler paid $12.55 million to buy a waterfront estate just north of Jupiter.
