Longtime JLL brokers Denny St. Romain and Jubeen Vaghefi joined Cushman & Wakefield’s multifamily group in Florida.
St. Romain and Vaghefi were most recently with Walker & Dunlop. Their five-person team includes Charles Crapse, Alex Kupp and Scott Peek. At Cushman, St. Romain and Vaghefi will partner with Robert Given and Robert Kaplan, focusing on multifamily land and development sales, as well as construction finance and structuring equity.
In early March, Cushman laid off employees across the country.
PIA Residential named James Shearer managing director of asset management and David Stiller senior acquisitions manager. The Miami-based apartment owner and investor plans to expand via acquisitions of multifamily properties in the Southeast and in Texas this year, according to Saul Levy, co-founder and managing partner of investments. Shearer was previously founder and sponsor of Performance Asset Management, LLC of Jacksonville Beach. Stiller was previously director of acquisitions and dispositions for American Landmark Apartments.
The Mizner Residential Group, led by Jeremy Olsher, joined Compass in Delray Beach. The group includes eight agents and two support staff. Olsher focuses on the Delray Beach, Gulf Stream, Boca Raton, Highland Beach and Boynton Beach markets.
The Meyers Group hired Roberto S. Rocha as head of real estate development. Rocha led his company, Sofran Group, as president and CEO. He’s worked on projects that include a proposed redevelopment of a Miami Dade College site in downtown Miami, Faena Mar in Miami Beach, and projects in Wynwood and Coconut Grove. Rocha previously worked for the Related Group.
Constantine Scurtis returned to Lynd Acquisitions Group as partner and co-CEO. The company acquires value-add multifamily real estate, and invests in affordable housing. Scurtis, who will re-open a Miami office, will be sourcing deals along with A. David Lynd, co-CEO of Lynd Acquisitions Group.
Real estate attorneys Manuel A. Fernandez and Alberto J. Delgado joined Alvarez & Diaz-Silveira LLP. They were previously partners together at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres LLP and Akerman LLP.
