Luxury homebuilder Bart Reines bought a waterfront home on Miami Beach’s La Gorce Island for $6.8 million.

58 La Gorce Circle, LLLP, tied to Reines, bought the 7,313-square-foot house from Ian Matthews and his wife Jane Elizabeth Lehr, records show.

Ian Matthews is a thoroughbred horse breeder and son of the late Victor Collin Matthews, who was the former CEO of Fleet Holdings, which owned The Daily Express, a newspaper in the United Kingdom.

Jill Eber of the the Jills Zeder Group at Coldwell Banker Realty represented Matthews and Lehr. 58 La Gorce Circle, LLLP was represented by a Miami non-MLS member.

The six-bedroom, six-and-a-half bathroom house was built in 1995. It last sold in 2003 for $5.2 million, according to records.

The home was initially listed for $10.5 million at the start of 2017. The property saw a few price reductions over the years, and eventually dropped to $8.3 million in January, according to the listing.

Bart Reines is a Miami Beach-based luxury homebuilder who has been building and designing homes for two decades, according to his website. In September of last year, a spec mansion that Reines and Brett Palos developed on North Bay Road in Miami Beach sold for $16 million.

Reines could not be reached for comment.

Last month, Cher’s former La Gorce Island mansion hit the market for $22 million. This month, Michael Huffington bought an $8 million condo in Miami Beach, and former U.S. ambassador Paul Cejas sold his Star Island mansion for $20 million.
