Water sports retailer is taking 50K sf at 1 East Broward

West Marine I 1 East Broward I Fort Lauderdale

Water sports retailer West Marine moved its headquarters from Santa Cruz, Calif. to Fort Lauderdale.

West Marine leased 50,000 square feet at 1 East Broward in downtown Fort Lauderdale, which will bring 225 jobs to the city, according to a news release from the property leasing and management firm NAI/Merin Hunter Codman.

Pacific Coast Capital Partners, a Los Angeles-based real estate investment trust founded by William Lindsay, Aaron Giovara and Donald Kuemmeler, paid $108.5 million for the 19-story building in 2018. NAI/Merin was a partner in the deal.

Catch Miami Beach I Miami Beach

Catch Hospitality Group will open a restaurant at one of Robert Rivani’s South Beach properties.

Seafood eatery Catch Miami Beach will open next fall at 200 South Pointe Drive in a 22,000-square-foot space, including indoor and outdoor dining, according to a news release from the hospitality firm.

This will be the seventh location of the Catch concept, with others in New York, Aspen, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Tilman Fertitta, Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm lead Catch Hospitality Group.

Rivani’s Black Lion Investment Group bought the building in the South of Fifth neighborhood for $11.5 million in April.

Blue Nile, Sugarfina, More I Brickell City Centre

Swire Properties’ Brickell City Centre is poised to get six new tenants.

On tap are: Levi’s, diamond retailer Blue Nile, Café Americano, fragrance and lifestyle brand Jo Malone London, Italian hosiery and beachwear brand Calzedonia, and Italian men’s apparel retailer Luca Faloni, according to a Brickell City Centre news release.

The leases come on the heels of seven other tenants already setting up shop at the mixed-use complex since late summer.

Mini golf venue Puttshack leased 27,000 square feet, and men’s apparel store Rhone leased 1,500 square feet. Other retailers that have opened are Warby Parker, Sunglass Hut, Zadig & Voltaire, SiSu Spa and Sugarfina.

Cortadito Coffee House I Miracle Mile I Coral Gables

Terranova scored a Cuban coffee house/fast-casual restaurant as a tenant in Coral Gables.

Cortadito Coffee House signed a 10-year lease for 2,200 square feet at 200 Miracle Mile, according to a Terranova news release.

Stephen Bittel’s Miami Beach-based Terranova has scored several other tenants at its other properties on the Miracle Mile stretch. They are: Konos Gelato at 210 Miracle Mile; Kaia at 223 Miracle Mile; and once-popular staple JohnMartin’s, which closed in 2020, will reopen under new management at 253 Miracle Mile.

Aroma360 I Boca Raton, Palm Beach

Aromatherapy supply store Aroma360 opened in Boca Raton and Palm Beach.

Aroma360 leased 1,000 square feet at Boca’s Mizner Park and 1,300 square feet at 288 South County Road in Palm Beach, according to Douglas Elliman’s Mario Stocco, the tenant’s broker.

Other locations are in the works in South Miami, Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, according to Stocco.

Breakthru Beverage Florida I Miramar

An alcohol distributor is expanding its South Florida presence.

Breakthru Beverage Florida leased the entire 61,000-square-foot Seagis @ Riviera Boulevard industrial facility in Miramar, according the South Florida Business Journal. Breakthru Beverage, a subsidiary of Breakthru Beverage Group, will open next month.

The alcohol distributor will keep its existing warehouse at the nearby Miramar Park of Commerce.

Seagis Property Group bought the 61,000-square-foot Riviera Boulevard facility, which was completed last year, for $13.3 million in February. The building is at 7481 Riviera Boulevard.

Michael Oretsky and Tom O’Loughlin of CBRE represented the tenant. Steve Medwin and Nick Wigoda of Newmark represented Seagis, working with the firm’s Bradlee Lord.
