A retail mogul sold his condo at the Four Seasons Residences at The Surf Club in Surfside for $21 million.

Records show that Michael George, as trustee, sold unit S607 at the condominium development at 9001 Collins Avenue, to SF Assets LLC, a Florida entity. James Meyer, a Miami-based attorney, signed for the LLC. The true buyer is unknown.

George is a board member of Ralph Lauren, AutoZone, and the National Constitution Center, according to his LinkedIn. He was previously the CEO of Qurate Retail Group, an ecommerce and television shopping retailer. Before that, he was chief marketing officer at Dell.

Nancy Batchelor of Compass had the listing, and Mark Kurkin of Beachfront Realty brought the buyer.

Records show Surfside Trust bought the unit for $8.9 million in 2018 from the developer, Fort Partners. The nearly 4,000-square-foot condo has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and one half-bathroom, according to property records. The listing shows the unit has private elevator entry as well.

Fort Partners completed the Four Seasons Residences at The Surf Club in 2017, as a redevelopment of the historic Surf Club, a prohibition-era elite social club tire magnate Harvey Firestone opened in 1930. The new Surf Club includes a 150-unit condominium, a 72-key hotel, and a restaurant by the French Laundry’s Thomas Keller.

In its first life, the Surf Club attracted celebrities and titans of industry like Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra and Winston Churchill, and the contemporary club continues to attract VIPs.

Miami Heat legend Pat Riley and his wife, Christine, sold their unit for $22.8 million in May.

In March, hedge funder Leonard Licht bought a Surf Club Four Seasons condo for $18.5 million, and shortly after sold his Faena House unit for $15.5 million. Lynda Carter, who famously played Wonder Woman, bought a condo for $15 million in June of last year.

Surf Club Four Seasons has maintained strong price growth for its units. A penthouse sold for $29.4 million in July, up 40 percent from its previous sale price in 2018.
