Movers & Shakers: JLL taps Andrew Dickey to lead Southeast hospitality

Here’s the latest South Florida real estate hiring news.

JLL tapped its longtime managing director, Andrew Dickey, as the Southeast lead of its Hotels & Hospitality Group, according to an announcement. Dickey will be working in the firm’s Miami office, where he will be joining other recent additions John Huguenhard and Wells Waller.

Dickey has worked with Chicago-headquartered JLL for 17 years, primarily overseeing investment sales in Latin America and the Caribbean, the release states.

JLL Senior Managing Director Gregory Rumpel is stepping down from the role, but staying on to advise the firm’s leadership in the region.

Miami-based Driftwood Capital hired Jay Cooper as managing director of development and construction, according to a release. Cooper was previously vice president of development at Delray Beach-based Kolter Hospitality.

In his new role, Cooper is overseeing pre-development work on the $388 million Westin Cocoa Beach Resort and Conference Center, and the $185 million Riverside Wharf Dream Miami hotel complex, the release says.

The city of Miami hired Andrew Frey as director of its department of real estate, Frey announced on LinkedIn. He previously worked for two years as a senior vice president at AJ Capital Partners, also in Miami.

Forbes Global Properties brought in Legacy Development Sales & Marketing, led by Mark Pordes and Adam Kaufman, to represent the brand in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Legacy provides real estate services targeted at the luxury market, in both development and sales of residential and resort properties, according to the release.

Newgard Development Group added to its staff, hiring J. Shannon Crowell as its chief development officer, Bromley Kelly as senior vice president of construction, and Kate Sanko as the company’s first vice president of interior design, the Miami-based residential development firm said in a release.

Crowell previously worked at CIM Group as vice president of development. In his new role, Crowell will be sourcing development opportunities as well as overseeing projects underway, the release says.

Kelly will be overseeing all construction across the company, and Sanko will be leading design team’s in Newgard’s residential developments.

The Agency brought in former Miami Marlins player Julian Infante as a broker in its Bal Harbour office, the brokerage announced. Infante will primarily cover Pinecrest, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and Miami Beach, according to the release.

Ignacio Villanueva made the jump from Compass to Douglas Elliman. According to a release from Elliman, Villanueva closed more than $95 million in sales from 2021 to 2022. He will be based out of the brokerage’s Morningside office in Miami.

Re/Max Advance Realty and Re/Max All Keys Real estate, based in Key Largo, acquired Tropical Realty of the Florida Keys, the brokerages announced. Led by the mother-daughter duo Jane Wasmund and Wendy Ives, Tropical Realty is bringing its team of seven to All Keys.

With the addition, All Keys will have a total of 172 agents, according to the release.
