The University of Miami’s Life Science & Technology Park is adding sandwich retailer Subway to its list of tenants, the park’s developer Wexford Miami announced today. The Subway franchise, which is owned by Stuart Frankel, the inventor of Subway’s “$5 footlong,” has already moved into the 1,400-square-foot location along northwest 7 Avenue. The shop is Frankel’s fourth Subway outpost.

The 8.8-acre park’s first building phase, located at 1951 NW 7 Avenue, is now 75 percent occupied and the sites other restaurants include Thea Pizzeria & Café and Balans Restaurant.

“The University of Miami Life Science & Technology Park’s central location and built-in tenant base, coupled with the Health District’s large daily population, were key factors in our decision to open a new Subway location here,” Frankel said in a statement. —Christopher Cameron
