Jeffrey Lurie, owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, is likely the buyer of a six-bedroom Palm Beach mansion that sold for $28.5 million, the Palm Beach Daily News reported.

Retired financial services executive Bruce Hammonds and wife Sandra sold the 1275 South Ocean Boulevard home for about $1,675 per square foot, as The Real Deal reported, citing Palm Beach County records. The transaction closed on Monday and was recorded by the county the following day.

Lurie has been checking out Palm Beach houses for several months — not far from his mother, who is a longtime condominium owner at Two North Breakers Row, the newspaper said.
