Caroline Wozniacki buys Fisher Island penthouse

Shortly before breaking up with golfer Rory McIlroy, Danish tennis star Caroline Wozniacki picked up a Fisher Island penthouse for $1.7 million, The Real Deal has learned.

The former top-ranked player in the world acquired the 2543 Fisher Island Drive unit through a Miami-based company called PAC 2543 Corp., according to Miami-Dade County records. Wozniacki’s mother Anna is identified is PAC’s director in state corporate records. The three-bedroom, 1,847-square-foot condo was built in 1986.

Wozniacki also owns a penthouse at the Four Seasons Miami on Brickell Avenue. PAC 2543 did not obtain financing for the Fisher Island purchase.

The condo purchased by Wozniacki includes three bathrooms and 1,500 square feet of terraces. It was acquired as a fully furnished and decorated unit, according to Investco Realty’s Maria Magdalena Spenceley, who represented Wozniacki in the transaction. The entire Wozniacki family plans to use the penthouse when it vacations in Miami, Madgalena said.

Sellers Hector and Clara Collado made a quick profit on the couple’s $1.02 million purchase of the unit in July 2013. They were represented by Robert Vole of The Island Real Estate.

Wozniacki and McIlroy were among the most recognizable couples in sports during their three-year relationship. The couple got engaged at the beginning of 2014. McIlroy announced last week that he called off the engagement, citing a recent realization that he is not ready for marriage.
