A Los Angeles-based firm has crossed the country and opened an office in Coral Gables, pursuing South Florida’s booming, high-priced real estate.

The Westside Estate Agency, founded in 1999, deals in luxury real estate through its offices in Malibu and Beverly Hills.

The firm’s Miami location, at 2100 Ponce de Leon Boulevard, will be headed by Cyril Bijaoui, according to a release.

Bijaoui is the founding CEO of brokerage firm The Company Real Estate. He recently handled the sale of a penthouse condo at the 67-story Marquis tower.

“The Miami luxury real estate market is one of the top and fastest growing in the world,” said WEA co-founders Stephen Shapiro and Kurt Rappaport in a statement. “We are excited to bring WEA to the region to meet the needs of both our buyer and seller clients in the area and have been looking for the perfect individual to lead this expansion. Cyril is that person.” — Sean Stewart-Muniz
