Sperry Van Ness is expanding its Miami office with Mark King, the company’s newest senior adviser focusing in the retail and multi-family segments of commercial real estate in South Florida. King worked for New York City-based Racebrook Capital, the parent company of Sheldon Good & Company.

David Pulley joined Douglas Elliman as a director of luxury sales in Florida. Pulley, who will be based in the firm’s Miami Beach headquarters, will service the firm’s high-profile clientele through its developing sports and entertainment division, which provides an elite level of services for those within the sports and entertainment industries, as well as ultra-high net worth parties. Pulley will focus specifically on residential sales and leasing.

Lionheart Capital, a Miami-based real estate investment and development firm engaged in the acquisition and repositioning of prime properties, hired David Metalonis as its chief investment officer and partner. Metalonis, former senior vice president and partner at Colliers International, will now oversee acquisitions, dispositions, procurement of debt and equity funding for Lionheart Capital.

Stephanie D. Whiffen joined Encore Bank as vice president, residential loan officer. Whiffen brings 40 years of experience in business, banking and finance, and has held senior management positions in sectors including manufacturing, wholesale and retail for national and international corporations.

Architecture and design firm Perkins+Will hired Cesar Garcia-Pons as the company’s newest senior urban designer to lead urban design efforts locally and across Latin America. Garcia-Pons previously led the Planning, Design and Transportation for the Miami Downtown Development Authority and was a senior urban designer and practical principal with what is now AECOM.

Suffolk Construction, one of the largest building contractors in Florida, hired Paul Rooney as vice president of operations. Rooney joins Suffolk with more than 30 years of industry experience and will oversee operations of key projects throughout Florida. Rooney was last president and equity partner for a Florida-based general contractor specializing in federal government construction projects, where he implemented new operational procedures and spearheaded a strategic business expansion.
