The son of billionaire Ed Ansin purchased a half-acre lot in Miami Beach for $8 million, The Real Deal has learned.

Miami neurologist Bernard S. Baumel and his wife, Carolyn Baumel, sold the 24,000-square-foot lot to Andy Ansin, a vice president at Sunbeam Properties, last week, Miami-Dade County records show. A tennis court sits on the property at 1700 West 25th Street on Sunset Island 1.

The 24,000-square-foot lot traded for more than eight times its last sale — $975,000 in February 2000.

The Baumels used to own the 7,946-square-foot home next door at 1704 West 25th Street, according to Miami-Dade County property records. They sold it for $6.35 million in April 2013.

Sunbeam Properties developed the 400-acre Miramar Park of Commerce, one of the largest in South Florida. Ansin’s father Ed Ansin owns Sunbeam Television, a broadcasting company that owns television stations including WSVN Channel 7.
