Two developers have announced plans to build a 925,000-square-foot business park on the site of the former Deerfield Country Club in Deerfield Beach.

The park, branded as the Hillsboro Technology Center, is being developed by the Bristol Group and Butters Construction and Development.

Located east of I-95 and and north of West Hillsboro Boulevard, the 72-acre golf course was acquired from its operator and owner, Gator Development Group, according to a release.

The park will include a hotel, warehouse and offices, along with a recreation building and a public park during the project’s first phase.

Construction is set to begin in the second quarter of this year, with the first two industrial buildings, totaling 258,732
square feet, expected to be finished in early 2016. The rest will be finished over the next three to five years.

“Hillsboro Technology Center provides a unique opportunity to build a world class business park on the largest remaining vacant parcel adjacent to I-95,” said Malcolm Butters, president of Butters, in a statement. “The master planned business park will be the most significant new development in Broward County in terms of its size since the mid-2000’s.” — Sean Stewart-Muniz
