The “Grande Dame of Miami Beach” closed on a $51.8 million mortgage last week, according to Miami-Dade County records.

Owners of the Eden Roc Miami Beach Resort & Spa, a 631-key hotel built in 1955, announced plans in December for the Nobu Hotel within the hotel and its multimillion-dollar renovation.

The Nobu Hotel, set to open later this year, will include 210 guest rooms, a Nobu restaurant and bar, a beachfront restaurant, 20,000 square feet of spa and gym facilities, more than 70,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and two pools.

The Eden Roc, at 4525 Collins Avenue, was originally designed by architect Morris Lapidus and features four pools, a lobby bar, and 70,000 square feet of indoor space. The property was formerly a Marriott Renaissance hotel. Owners completed a $240 million renovation in 2008.

CitiGroup Global Markets Realty Corp. and Cantor Commercial Real Estate Lending granted last week’s loan, records show. The Ardid family, which operates Key International, a real estate investment and development company, owns the Eden Roc.
