Sales for co-ops and condominiums in Manhattan grossed $3.3 billion in December

Sales for co-ops and condominiums in Manhattan grossed $3.3 billion in December, and the month was most notable for high priced units, including the city’s most expensive sale which closed in the final month of the year. Condo sales averaged $2.9 million from 410 units sold, and had an average price of $1,741 per square foot. The average price for a Manhattan condo has increased at a rate of 7.9 percent per year since 2004. Co-op sales had an average price of $1.3 million from 540 units sold during December. The $100.5 million sale for a condo at One57 topped broke records for the city’s most expensive home sale, which was recorded in the final month of the year. View the full report online here.
