Algin Management is a family-owned real estate management and development company. Algin was founded in 1957 by developer Albert Ginsberg after he purchased a 300-unit apartment complex in Forest Hills, Queens (which the company eventually transitioned into a co-op). The firm has since expanded to manage locations in Manhattan, as well, starting by purchasing several walk-ups on First Avenue. The firm has also branched out into commercial properties, such as parking facilities, banking, grocery stores, and dry cleaning retail storefronts. More recently, Algin has had projects at the old Roseland Ballroom site (where in 2015 Algin filed plans to erect a 50-story condo building) and proposed buying air rights from the nearby Majestic Theater. While Algin has kept a presence in Queens, it has sold off some of its properties there in recent years. In late 2015 Algin sold an eight-building portfolio in Flushing for nearly $140 million.
