Ashkenazy Acquisition is a New York City-based firm that invests in retail and office real estate. Its portfolio, which the company values at $7 billion, includes the nine-story retail condominium at 660 Madison Avenue, occupied by luxury department store Barneys New York. Ben Ashkenazy founded his namesake firm in 1987 and is now its chief executive and chairman. Ashkenazy Acquisition has long-term leases in Union Station in Washington and the Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston, as well as property in Canada and England, with over 100 buildings in total. A third of Ashkenazy's portfolio is located in the New York metro area. The firm also owns franchise rights in the tri­state area for IHOP (International House of Pancakes), the breakfast foods restaurant chain. Ashkenazy Acquisition does 7 to 12 acquisitions a year, about half of them with various joint-venture partners.
