Berko & Associates is a New York City-based commercial brokerage founded in 2005 by Yossi "Joe" Berko. The brokerage advises clients, providing sales and financing services. According to Real Estate Weekly the firm grew its transaction volume to $180 million, from $25 million in 2009. The firms biggest deal of 2013 occurred when The Blatt Billiards loft building in Union Square one of the last relics of the areas manufacturing past went to contract for $24 million, underscoring the neighborhoods shift to a hothouse for startup technology and media firms, according to The Real Deal. Joseph Berko, a president of Berko & Associates, represented the buyer and seller in the deal, a representative from the brokerage firm said. He declined to comment. The building is in a manufacturing zone and would have to get a variance from the city to allow a residential use.
