Carmel Partners is a San Francisco-based real estate investment firm. Founded in 1996, it manages more than $3.7 billion in real estate assets through five investment funds that services dozens of institutional investors. Carmel has been a major player on the West Coast, as well as in Hawaii, purchasing the Waterfront at Puuloa in 2014 for $311 million and 30 Van Ness for $80 million in 2015. It has run across some road bumps in that time, filing a lawsuit in 2013 against San Diego to resolve a work-stop order when the city reneged on the permits it had issued for a building project near San Diego State University. In recent years Carmel has made a dedicated into New York City (after opening a one-agent office in 2010). It has since acquired or developed 325 Lexington Avenue, 354 East 91st Street, a block of properties on Fulton Street, and 15 Cliff. Carmel also has offices in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.
