Caspi Development is a Westchester, N.Y.-based developer. Caspi was founded in the 1950s by clothier Joseph Caspi, who then became known as a rental property expert until he died in 1990. The family-owned firm, which has since been taken over by Caspis son Joshua, has built a number of notable properties mainly in Manhattan but also recently in Brooklyn and the Bronx, including the Grand Concourse Hotel in the Bronx and the Waverly Building in Brooklyn. Caspi has a number of regular collaborators, including CBRE Capital Markets and Faros Properties, which has helped the firm break into emerging neighborhoods. In recent years the firm has helped lead the charge into up-and-coming neighborhoods. 2014 Caspi renovated 161 Bowery into a modern office space for technology companies, making it the first tech office in that neighborhood. Caspi has also built rental buildings in Clinton Hill and other areas in Brooklyn.
