Castellan Real Estate Partners, sometimes known as Castellan Holdings, is a New York City-based investment firm and landlord that owns buildings throughout the city. The firm, established in 2008, is controlled by two brothers, John and Paul Salib. Castellan's property managers allegedly have a strategy of getting rent-stabilized, Spanish-speaking tenants to vacate their units by demanding proof of citizenship or income in order to charge higher rents to incoming tenants of the vacated units. The company's portfolio of buildings is concentrated in Harlem, Washington Heights, the South Bronx and Brooklyn.
