Diller Scofidio + Renfro, or DS+R, is New York City-based design firm, founded by the Elizabeth Diller, Ricardo Scofidio in 1979. Diller and Scofidio are married. Charles Renfro joined the firm in 1997 and became partner in 2004. The firms early designs were closer to conceptual art than to brick-and-mortar buildings. But in recent years, the firm's portfolio has grown to include the redevelopment of Lincoln Center, the first mile of the High Line (in collaboration with James Corner Field Operations), the Perry and Marty Granoff Creative Arts Center for Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, the Culture Shed and D Tower within the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project, and a viewing platform on Fulton Street in Lower Manhattan that gave viewers a closer look at Ground Zero. In 2003, the Whitney Museum of American Art held a retrospective of the studios work. In 2010, Fast Company put Diller Scofidio + Renfro on its list of 50 most innovative companies in the world. MK
