Gehry Partners is an architecture firm founded in 2001 by Frank Gehry. The Los Angeles-based firm has focused on . The firms founder is best-known for his design of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, as well as MITs Ray and Maria Stata Center and the Art Gallery of Ontario. Like its founder, the firm has taken on many complex projects and many of its designs have the appearance of crude, unfinished buildings. The firm often uses 3D computer modeling technology (similar to that used in the aerospace industry) to design its projects. In 2009 the firm was hired but then dumped from the Forest City project (Gehrys designs were credited with generating the projects initial excitement). The firm has been known to take on an eclectic array of projects, from the Guggenheim in Abu Dhabi and a garage in Miami, to the restoration of Los Angeles 51-mile-long river.
