Imperium Capital is a privately held real estate investment and development company that specializes in office, retail, multi-family, and mixed-use properties. Imperium, a relative newcomer to the industry (having been founded in 2010), focuses primarily on gateway markets such as Miami and Brooklyn. Imperium is not afraid to “pay up for properties,” according to owner Sam Schneider, and have landed big, expensive deals on Prince Streeet and on West Broadway in Soho, as well as the $80 million purchase of a retail condo on Mercer Street. Its 2014 purchase of 123 Prince Street was considered one of the most expensive for that already pricey neighborhood ($12,300 per square foot). In 2012 Imperium moved into neighboring Hudson Square, looking to redevelop office space and retail in the next up-and-coming New York neighborhood. It joined with Stellar Management and paid $200 million to purchase two commercial buildings and repositioned them as One Soho Square,
