    Kaufman Organization is a family-owned commercial real estate firm with more than 6 million square feet in its portfolio. The firm began in 1918, when Samuel Kaufman developed properties in Manhattans Garment District. Since then the firm has expanded to include several buildings in that area and began raising capital for acquisitions in suburban New York. In the 2000s the firm began to look into under-developed commercial properties to develop. The firm also housed Kaufman Astoria Studios, a production studio that was for many years the home to Sesame Street and Nurse Jackie. In 2013 the firm began offering stylish residential-style websites for commercial buildings, looking to get the message out on some of its properties. In 2014 Kaufman leased one of Extell Developments four Ring buildings to Anheuser Busch and Alley NYC. The following year the organization partnered with Goldman Sachs on a long-term $45 million ground lease at 155 West 23rd Street, the latest of the Extell buildings.
