Marcus & Millichap is a publicly traded commercial real estate brokerage firm, headquartered in Calabasas, California, and founded in 1971 by George Marcus and William Millichap. It is listed on the New York Stock Exchange using the ticker symbol MMI. The firm, which publishes an index of apartment building prices, the National Apartment Index, has a sizable presence in New York City, though it is more active in other parts of the United States. In New York, Marcus & Millichap brokers mostly multifamily sales under $20 million. The firm also brokers investment sales in retail, office, single-tenant net-lease, self-storage, senior housing, manufactured homes, hospitality and land. It opened its Manhattan office and its Brooklyn office in 1999 and 2007, respectively.

Marcus & Millichap was ranked no. 9 in The Real Deal’s annual investment sales ranking covering 2016.
