Megalith Capital Management is a real estate owner and developer that focuses almost entirely on the New York market. Founded in 2009 by Sam Sidhu after he left Providence Equity, Megalith began by purchasing a number of multifamily buildings in Brooklyn, then shifted to development and warehouse-to-condo conversions along the Brooklyn waterfront, partnering with Urban Realty and other firms. Megalith has been particularly active in Brooklyns Dumbo neighborhood, buying a plot from the Jehovahs Witnesses for $30 million in 2014 and converting it into a rental building. It has also done work in Manhattan, purchasing a trio of Upper West Side office buildings from Disney for $85 million in 2014. Megalith has been cashing in on some of its properties, such as in 2015 when it sold rentals in Park Slope for $37 million. But the firm also has kept building, as with a 25-story condo in Lincoln Square. In recent years the firm has focused on submarket development in up-and-coming neighborhoods like Bushwick and Crown Heights. Today the firm has more than $1.2 billion in total assets.
