Milstein Properties is family-owned real estate investment firm in New York City. Two brothers, the founders Paul and Seymour Milstein, both deceased, began investing in real estate in the 1950s. Milstein Properties controls a portfolio of about 50,000 apartments, 8,000 hotel rooms and 20 million square feet of office space in the New York metropolitan area. The firm operates through two wings, Milstein Brothers Real Estate and Milford Management. The firm's residential properties include the tower at 30 Lincoln Plaza, a condominium conversion, and four rental buildings in Battery Park City: Liberty Court, Liberty House, Liberty Terrace and Liberty View. Its commercial properties include the office buildings 335 Madison Avenue, 5 East 42nd Street and 6 East 43rd Street. The latter two are the headquarters of Emigrant Savings Bank, controlled by Paul's son Howard, which the family acquired for $90 million in 1986.
