    Moin Development is a privately held full-service real estate development company. Founded by David Moinian (brother to the equally influential Joseph Moinian), the firm has a portfolio of more than 2,000 hotels, apartments, and mixed-use office buildings that it has built or redeveloped, most of them in the Tri-State area. The firm also owns several properties in Manhattan and has holdings in the Caribbean, including the Sugar Bay Resort and Spa in St. Thomas and the Orlando Sun Resort. In 2015 Moin was tapped along with Sam Nazarians SBE to develop SLS Hotels first New York City property (the hotel chain already had operations in Miami Beach and Beverly Hills) Moin and SBE had purchased property four years earlier for $45 million, but the deal soured some. Restaurateur Robert Malta accused Moin of persuading them to sell their shares in the property, 444 Park Avenue South, to make room for the hotel conversion.
