Naftali Group is a Manhattan-based real estate development firm founded in 2011 by Miki Naftali. Since launching, Naftali has been prolific, developing or managing more than 15 luxury residential mixed-use properties in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including the Shephard in the West Village, several properties on the Upper West Side, including 182 West 82nd Street, 210 West 77th Street and 221 West 77th Street, and both the Arthur and the Seymour on West 25th Street. The firm also helped develop the tallest dormitory in the U.S., for Pace University. The firm's stated approach is to keep busy, but it remain lean, with a small team taking advantage of opportunity and preparing for the inevitable down cycles. It also prefers to finance a good deal of its projects, aiming to chip in at least 50 percent of the loan in many cases. With an eye toward owning office space and other income-producing properties, Naftali has also taken on rentals in Park Slope (the Landmark Park Slope at 267 Sixth Street). Prior to forming his firm, Naftali won accolades and infamy for his renovation of the Plaza Hotel while with the Elad Group.
