    The Olnick Organization is a real estate development and management firm. Founded just after World War II, the firm has become one of the major developers of residential and commercial real estate in Manhattan.

    Among its most high-profile properties are the Lenox Terrace in Harlem, which once served as the campaign headquarters for Rep. Charles Rangel, 130 Fifth Avenue, and the Excelsior at 301 East 57th Street, which was once considered the biggest apartment building in New York City. The organization also owns several buildings and office complexes in New Jersey and Westchester County.

    Olnick has been at the forefront of several burgeoning neighborhoods. It had been one of the first developers to erect apartments in Battery Park City, as well as helped erect residential housing in Bronx's Riverdale neighborhood.

    In 2010 the firm was hit with a lawsuit over allegedly deregulating units while receiving tax abatements, and five years later Olnick got a black eye in the press, which had dubbed it one of the worst landlords in the city over allegations that it had illegally raised the rent in rent-stabilized apartments in Lenox Terrace. In 2020, the firm agreed to pay nearly $1.2 million to Lenox Terrace tenants in order to settle the decade-old lawsuit.
