Peebles Corporation is a privately held real estate investment and development company that focuses on residential, hospitality, and mixed-use commercial properties. Peebles was founded in 1983 by R. Donahue Peebles, and it has since completed more than $5 billion in development in New York City, Las Vegas, and elsewhere. Most of the firms projects, especially in recent years, have been larger ones, with price tags of more than $100 million. Some of them (such as 108 Leonard) have been public-private partnerships. Others have been credited with transforming city neighborhoods, such as 2100 Martin Luther King Jr. in Washington, D.C. (one of Peebles first acquisitions). Peebles has been active also in Miami, where it built the Lincoln and the Royal Palm Hotel, and in recent years has turned its attention to Boston. In 2014 Peebles launched a $350 million real estate investment fund after years of floating the idea.
