PropertyShark is a real estate search engine and database launched in 2003 by real estate investor and computer programmer Matthew Haines.

It keeps tabs on approximately 90 million properties in New York City as well as Los Angeles, San Francisco and other major U.S. markets. Its vitals include things such as property valuations, dimensions and tenant rosters for commercial listings; it also releases regular foreclosure reports.

California-based Yardi Systems acquired PropertyShark in 2010 with plans to expand it nationwide. By 2013, PropertyShark had more than 1.4 million registered users and covered markets in at least 46 states. The database is still headquartered in Manhattan.
