Quinland Development Group is a privately held real estate investment and development company. It was founded in 1971 by Robert Quinlan, and has made a name for itself converting derelict or unused buildings into office space and residential buildings. In 2013 it purchased a warehouse on 259 Pacific Street in Cobble Hill to build a new 60-unit rental building. In 2015 Quinlan focused more on office space locations in Brooklyn, taking advantage of tenants looking for loft-like conditions. Quinlan began to convert the former self-storage Pioneer Building at 41 Flatbush Avenue into office space, intended to be a Class-A building with a landscaped roof deck and up to four stores. The firm has made proposals in recent years to rezone manufacturing areas in outer borough neighborhoodssuch as Bushwick, Gowanus, and Long Island Cityand offer developers 10-year tax exemptions to create additional affordable housing. The firm also has began to dabble in short-term financing for certain projects.
