Rockpoint Group is a Boston-based real estate private equity fund, founded in 2003 by Bill Walton and Keith Gelb, who continue to manage it. Since inception, Rockpoints funds have raised a total of more than $9 billion in capital commitments, investing or committing about $7 billion of equity in over 200 transactions with total capitalization of about $27 billion.

Notable deals in New York include the $218 million purchase of The Wimbledon, an Upper East Side luxury residential rental property with 223 units, from J.P. Morgan Investment Management at the end of 2014. Rockpoint teamed up with the Feil Organization to buy 83 percent of RCG Longviews 200 West 57th Street office building for just over $120 million in April 2015.  -NE
