Toll Brothers is one of the largest housing development firms in the United States, founded by Robert and Bruce Toll in 1967. Nationally, it specializes in large new construction houses in the suburbs, a type of development that does not work in New York City. In New York, Toll Brothers has developed a series of high- and moderate-priced condominiums in Manhattan and Brooklyn. These include the 270-condo 2 Northside Piers at 164 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg and the 65-condo, loft-style building at 205 Water Street in Dumbo. Toll Brothers also built the 22-unit boutique condo building at The Touraine on East 65th Street in Manhattan. -TA
