VE Equities is a full-service real estate investment and development firm that focuses on building high-end condominiums, retail and office space in New York City and Los Angeles. The firm, which is run by Zach Vella and Justin Ehrlich, has sold a number of buildings throughout Manhattan but mostly downtown, including 257 Water Street, a mixed-use building at the South Street Seaport; and 11 North Moore, a nine-story condo building in Tribeca on the site of a gas station that VE Equities demolished and redeveloped. For the latter, VE Equities launched sales via Instagram. The firm also has renovated two warehouses in Los Angeles and converted them into office space and shopping centers. In 2014, Vella was sued by a minority shareholder in the company that built 949 Park Avenue, who alleged that Vella made interest payments to himself on bogus loans.
