Westwood Realty Associates is not showy or well-marketedand its owner, Steven Vegh seems to like it that way. When the firm was opened in 2012 by Vegh, who had come from impressive stints at GFI Capital and then Multi-Investment Group, it was designed to focus on large-scale investments, much of them off-market.

Vegh is still the only broker at the firm, but despite the lean operating overhead and boutique moniker, Westwood has routinely beat out some larger firms the last few years. Westwood has made a name for itself closing several record-breaking off-market deals, not just in Manhattan but also in the Bronx and Brooklyn.

Within its first two years in operation, Westwood closed more than $1.5 billion in sales, including record sales prices in the Bronx and Williamsburg. During its first year alone, Westwood ranked as the 15th highest investment sales firm in New York by The Real Deal, netting $368 million in 10 deals. By 2014, it had climbed slightly higher, to 11th on the list with $889 million in deals, much of that in the latter half of the year.
