Adam Schwartz joined Angelo, Gordon in 2000 and is the head of the firms United States/Europe real estate group. He is a managing director and a member of the firms executive committee. According to the company, Schwartz has been directly responsible for or overseen in excess of $6 billion of real estate assets at the firm. Prior to joining the firm, Adam worked in the acquisitions group at Vornado Realty Trust, a public real estate investment trust. He received a B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

In 2014, The Commercial Observer newspaper named Schwartze one of its Real Estate Power 100, slotting in in at number 54. The paper gave Schwartz kudos for strategic thinking that had his firm selling U.S. real estate high and investing the proceeds in underperforming European venues.

In April 2014 Gordon and its joint venture partner Lincoln Property Co. sold their 12-story twin office buildings, Griffin Towers, in Santa Ana, Calif., to Blackstone Group affiliate Equity Office for $129 million. That sale marked the largest commercial transaction in Orange County in 2014. According to the Commercial Observer in 2014, Angelo Gordon had its sights on doubling its portfolio in Europe to nearly 1 billion over the next two years.
