Belinda Schwartz is a lawyer in New York and the head of the real estate practice group at Herrick, Feinstein. She is a partner at the firm and was named chairwoman of the department in 2014. Her clients have included Cammeby’s International, the Witkoff Group, HK Organization, and Brickman Group. Real Estate Forum named her a "Woman of Influence" twice. The Real Estate Board of New York recognized her work with its Most Ingenious Deal of the Year award in 2007. Before joining Herrick, she worked at Wien & Malkin and was made partner in that firm in 1991. Her experience includes a 10-year stint at Cole & Dietz (now Winston & Strawn). Schwartz got into the real estate industry when she worked as an intern at Philips International, in the summer between graduating from Columbia University’s Barnard College and starting New York University’s (NYU) Law School. She received her JD from NYU in 1983. Schwartz and her husband Victor, a psychiatrist and the medical director of the Jed Foundation, live on the Upper West Side. The couple has two adult sons. Schwartz describes herself as an observant Jew, who attends services most Saturday mornings, hosts Shabbat dinners, and does not use her phone from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday. –MK
