Douglas Durst is chairman of the Durst Organization, a leading real estate developer and landlord in New York City.
Its portfolio includes more than 15 million square feet of retail, residential and commercial real estate.
Dursts grandfather started the firm in 1915, and Durst originally took it over upon his own fathers retirement in 1992. He resigned as co-president in 2009, ceding day-to-day management to his first cousin, Jodi Durst.
The Dursts properties and projects include a $100 million investment in One World Trade Center and the Bank of America Tower off Bryant Park, the first LEED platinum certified commercial high-rise building in the Unites States.
Other projects have included the New School University Center and 4 Times Square
Durst, a New York City native and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, is part owner of McEnroe Farm, an organic farm 100 miles north of Manhattan.
